Charents Kamar (Arch) was built in the 1960s by Armenian architect Rafael Israelyan, in the village of Voghjaberd, in honor of the renowned Armenian writer Yeghishe Charents. The arch is harmoniously connected to the landscape, and from here you can see a beautiful view of Mount Ararat, where you can take a lot of photos on the background of Ararat and the arch.

Geghard Monastery, formerly called Ayrivank, is a monastic complex built on the rock in the 13th century. Here was kept the Longin spear, which is now in the St. Echmiadzin museum. According to legend, St. Gregory the Illuminator built the church in the 4th century in a place of a spring which was destroyed by the Arabs. In the XIII century, Zakaryan brothers built a monastic complex. The main church, Katoghike, is built in front of the mountain and is rich in animal and vegetable relief. There are many caves and unique cross-stones around the complex. There are 2 rocky churches in which the spring flows. It is said that if you desire and throw a coin, your wish will come true. Geghard Monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Armenia.

The Garni Temple was built in the year 77 by Armenian King Trdat I and it served as the seat of the Armenian kings. The temple is dedicated to the Pagan God, Mihr. This is the only surviving pagan temple in the CIS. The structure has 24 ion columns in Hellenic style. The temple has been damaged many times by the earthquake, and in the mid-20th century, it has been rebuilt. In the Museum-Reserve area, you can see Saint Sion church, the summer palace, and the Royal Bathroom, II century. The 15 murals mosaics and Greek scriptures have been preserved in the bathroom. Another amazing phenomenon in Garni is the natural monument “Symphony of Stones”, consisting of hexagonal prisms, reminding huge musical organ.

Lake Sevan is surrounded by Geghama Mountains. It is one of the largest mountain lakes in the world, where 28 rivers are flowing, and only one originates from it. Lake Sevan is located in the central part of Armenia, at the altitude of 1900 m above sea level. Sevan is the only large lake in Armenia, one of the three important lakes that were called the sea in ancient times. Lake Sevan is a freshwater lake, one of the highest in the world, and the largest in the Caucasus. There are many types of fish in the lake, but the most delicious fish is cypress, which can be tasted at a restaurant near the lake. The landscape here is diverse, with high mountains, rocky coasts, mountain forests. Lake Sevan is one of the most famous resorts in Armenia.
The monastery of Sevanavank is located on the peninsula of Lake Sevan, which was an island down to the water level. The complex consists of 4 churches, two of which, according to the legend, were built by Gregory the Illuminator and the other two by the order of Princess Mariam (King Ashot Bagratuni’s daughter). Now there are 2 functioning churches in Sevanavanq.
