Erebuni Museum was founded in 1968 in Arin Berd hill, on the place where Argishti I, the king of Urartu, built the Erebuni castle, in 782 A.D.. The museum presents pre-Urartian, Urartian, Hellenistic, Achaemenid objects, which were found during regular excavations in the 19th century, there was found a cuneiform inscription, where is mentioned that the history Yerevan begins with this very hill. Each year thousands of citizens, foreign residents come to the museum, admire the displayed objects, the information received from the museum and leave their comments in the book of impressions. The name Yerevan itself is derived from Erebuni. The time of opening of the museum coincided with the 2750th anniversary of Yerevan.
